We're excited to announce that Blogtrottr is sponsoring Formula Pi - a programming competition where competitors write code to control identical self-driving robots around a track, each running on a Raspberry Pi.
The concept is simple and compelling: same hardware for everyone, so the only advantage is better code.
The first test sessions have been chaotic in the best possible way. Early runs produced false starts, collisions, robots flipping, and one unfortunate lost wheel. These teething problems fed directly into improvements ahead of the official November races.
A second test session took place on 24 October. Registration for the finals closes at the end of this month - if you're interested in competing in 2017, head to formulapi.com for details.
We'll be following along and sharing updates throughout the season.
